How I am trying to overcome distraction and write more blog posts

In my constant war with distraction, I have found that one of the things that is most effective is switching to another distraction. Like everyone, I am constantly lured by the internet. Cleverer people than me have designed to hook people like me. I have no chance. But there is a webpage out there called Squibler, although I prefer its original name of the World’s Most Dangerous Writing App.
This invites you to start typing, but with the dreadful threat that if you pause for more than a moment it will erase everything you have written. The sword of doom is continually over you. But it certainly succeeds in keeping you focused. It also has that feeling you get in the swimming pool, that once you have jumped there is no way of returning to the side again. You are in.
I am going to try to get into the habit of when I am being tempted by a juicy YouTube video or an apparently unmissable news story, instead I’ll do at least 5 minutes on a blog post. This is the first.
